Our Story

A journey towards environmental awareness

The Awakening

The idea took root decades ago — through a book, and a research study showing how a simple symbol could change everyday behavior. The real turning point came in 2010, with the Dartmouth College experiment that gave PolarBear its name.

You cannot improve what you do not measure

The Journey

From that first measurement, a personal transformation journey was born. I started optimizing every aspect of my daily life:

The Breakthrough

Before the app existed, I mapped my own carbon footprint the hard way — scientific papers, emission factors, Excel spreadsheets. The result surprised me: a 70% reduction was reachable, without sacrifices. That discovery became the foundation of everything PolarBear is built on.

Sustainability is not a sacrifice, it is an intelligent evolution
